MRHemp was founded by the Dutch Biologist Marijn Roersch van der Hoogte. During his studies, he discovered the untapped potential of hemp as a sustainable raw building material that doesn’t compromise living standards. This discovery continues to drive him in his work to redefine the place of hemp in our society.
His career in hemp started in 2014 at the Hemp Museum in Berlin. His work in the museum resulted in a crowdfunding campaign together with the hemp building materials processor, Hanffaser Uckermark eG. After the successful crowdfunding campaign, Marijn worked with Hanffaser Uckermark eG as a buyer of raw hemp material and the coordinator of cultivation and harvest with partner farmers.
Over the last few years, Marijn has visited numerous companies and projects, spoken at events and congresses, and has developed an extensive international network of industrial hemp professionals. In 2019 Marijn founded MRHemp to support others who wish to use this beautiful plant.
The goal of MRHemp is to assist in the growing and use of hemp, from small scale to large scale industrial projects. The main focus is on agriculture, logistics, and trade.
For a new industry to flourish, you need to focus on contemporary market demands. If hemp is to become a significant global raw material, the current bottleneck on agriculture and machinery needs to be removed. Therefore MRHemp focuses on ensuring that producers have the latest machinery and technologies.
